Elanora House

1970’s house perched on the escarpment with 270 degree views over Narrabeen Lagoon required significant renovation. Working with a limited budget we retained the footprint of the building while lifting and extending built elements to permit the entry of light and the capturing of views. Doors slide away into wall cavities to open the splayed living areas to a floating concrete terrace. A glazed Jarrah framed wall breaks down the solidity of the bedroom areas. Niches are carved out of existing walls creating unexpected glimpses of the water and bushland as the occupants move throughout the house. Splashes of colour are used like the parrots that alight on the surrounding Angophoras. The house has been featured in the Daily Telegraph Home Section.
